ABSTRACT
In a particularly restrictive maritime context, the monitoring and maintenance of port infrastructures set a major challenge for managers, who have to organize and optimize the management of their assets. After restating the issues and characteristics specific to ports, this paper makes a national and international assessment of management methods and tools. Recommendations and perspectives pertaining to methodological deployment are offered by way of conclusion.

INTRODUCTION
Over the past two centuries, the port industry has undergone significant growth, resulting in the construction of numerous infrastructures. In order to ensure their long-term operation, while guaranteeing a minimum level of service throughout their lifecycle, the regular monitoring and maintenance of infrastructures is becoming an imperative for project owners –. In a context of economic constraint and competition between ports, this need for management must also be in line with the objective of optimizing costs. The aim of this article is to present approaches and methodologies designed to formalize, facilitate and ultimately optimize the management of port infrastructure assets. In the following, the notion of asset management is understood as the set of organized monitoring and maintenance actions relating to it. The notion of infrastructure is understood as the association of the civil engineering structure and associated equipment enabling the expected (operating) function(s) to be carried out.
