A civil engineering project does not end with the completion of the work, nor with the handover and commissioning.

Work related to the guarantee of perfect completion and the dossier d'intervention ultérieur sur l'ouvrage are generally the responsibility of the site management team.

Although all civil engineering works in France are subject to ten-year (Article 1792 of the French Civil Code) and thirty-year (Articles 1382 and 2262 of the French Civil Code) warranties, companies do not usually insure themselves against the corresponding risks, given the premiums involved. The organization must therefore ensure rigorous, long-term archiving (of contractual documents, minutes of meetings, service orders, etc.), so as to be able to understand and react in the event of a problem appearing many years after the work has been commissioned.
