1.1 Definitions
In the European Union, waste is defined as any object or substance that the holder discards or is required to discard (Art. L 541-1-1 of the Environmental Code).
Construction waste is all waste produced by the construction industry. It comes from the construction, demolition, or renovation of buildings. Subject to strict regulations, waste disposal is, according to this Code, the responsibility of its producers and holders.
