4. Waste transport
In order to transport quantities exceeding 500 kg of non-hazardous waste or 100 kg of hazardous waste, a declaration must be made to the prefecture; it is valid for five years. A copy must be kept in the vehicle used for transport. This copy (which must not be lost) must be presented in the event of an inspection by the authorities.
The transport of inert waste is not covered by this declaration.
It should be noted that additional specifications apply to the transport of hazardous waste, which is a very delicate task. This is why the ADR, which is the European agreement concerning the international transport of dangerous goods by road, is intended to apply.
