 INTRODUCTION

For fire regulations concerning high-rise buildings (IGH) and very-high-rise buildings (ITGH), the legislator has laid down additional provisions for the various classes of activity defined in the fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) of June 25 1980, including those covering general provisions [TBA 3 050] (articles GH 1 to GH 5) and construction rules [TBA 3 051] (articles GH 6 to GH 56).

The purpose of this article is to specify the rules for carrying out the heat load assessment provided for in articles GH 5 (§ 1.5 of [TBA 3 050] ) and GH 61 (§ 5 of [TBA 3 052] ) of the Decree of December 30, 2011, and to comment on certain articles.

It is essential to assess the calorific value of furnishing and decorating materials not classified as M0, as well as the calorific load represented by these materials as a whole. This assessment enables us to more accurately define the technical resources to be deployed in the building to respond to a potential fire.
