11. Conclusion

Alternator and motor protection systems are made up of a number of identically-structured chains, each of which fulfils a specific protection function.

The design and choice of such systems respond to the need for rapid elimination of faults, with the aim of limiting the damage suffered by these machines, while disrupting the operation of the equipment connected to them as little as possible.

That's why it's necessary to find a compromise between the completeness of protection in relation to possible faults, the need for machine continuity, and costs, both for protection equipment and for repair or replacement in the event of damage, not forgetting any costs incurred on related equipment.
