5. Conclusion

Simulating the behavior of a switch in its environment is a difficult task. Indeed, the accuracy of the results obtained depends not only on the model of the component studied, but also on the modeling of all the elements surrounding this component, from the probes that carry out the measurements. We have developed a voltage probe model that includes cable modeling. This model was validated at frequency using an impedance meter. We then used simulation to analyze, under fairly realistic conditions, the discrepancy between the real signals and the signals measured through the probes.

In particular, we have shown that for large di /dt the error in the measurement of switching power can be very large.
