3. Economic aspects

Substations play a major role in the design of a network, whether public or private. The reliability of the network depends to a large extent on their suitability and operation. It is on substations that network maintenance costs and charges will often be concentrated, so they must be taken into account during design and construction.

3.1 Public networks

The distributor's aim is to improve the quality of electricity supply to customers, at the lowest possible cost.
