1. Terminology

  • Transmission network: HVB network linking generating stations to the transformer substations that supply the HV distribution network.

  • Public distribution network: HV or LV (low voltage) network that supplies electricity directly to the distributor's regular customers.

  • Private network: internal network for an industrial or tertiary installation requiring significant power.

  • Source structure: network structure comprising source substations (delivery and/or power plant substations) and distribution substations.

  • Private distribution structure: HV and LV network structure internal to industrial or tertiary installations.
