7. HV substation technology

An HV substation is a structure comprising :

  • one (or more) switchboards ;

  • protection and control equipment, usually incorporated into the panel;

  • sometimes energy meters;

  • equipment for connecting to power cables ;

  • an enclosure, which may be part of a building or a building designed solely for this purpose.
