4. Vehicular augmented reality: technologies and applications

The appearance of "heads-up" displays in the vehicle, mainly for real-time rendering of driver assistance information (ADAS).

ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance Systems) are advanced man-machine interface and driving assistance systems designed to enhance driving safety and incident avoidance.

Historically, it was the British brand Jaguar that first installed a mini-projector on its production vehicles, projecting semi-transparently onto the windscreen to display vehicle information such as speed, fuel consumption, etc., without the driver having to look away.
