2. What is Cloud Storage?

First of all, Cloud Storage is part of the Cloud Computing nebula, and will gradually increase the level of outsourcing of corporate and individual IT activities over the coming years. It does not replace existing storage, backup/restore and archiving technologies, infrastructures and functionalities. It proposes a different approach to these, characterized by the notion of services.

But any information or investigation into Cloud Storage requires us to define this new concept precisely beforehand.
