4.1 What is Service?
There's a distinction between the two notions of product and service, even though both are the result of a process.
Product: economic good resulting from production, manufactured object.
Service: a set of obligations towards individuals or communities.

A product is an output of an organization that can be produced without a transaction between the organization and the customer (ISO 9000, § 3.7.6);
A service is an output of an organization with at least one activity necessarily performed between the organization and the customer...
