3. Produce semantic information

The automated production of connectivity services provided by network slices, for example, can be triggered by an expression of need expressed by the service customer. This expression of need can exploit the resources of so-called "Intent-Based Networking" (IBN) techniques, which are designed to facilitate the expression of needs and constraints that can be derived into a set of configuration instructions.

IBN techniques thus make it possible to interpret a laconic expression (e.g. "I need to interconnect two sites") without the customer prejudging the technical response to his need, which remains the responsibility of the service provider.

One of the aims of IBN techniques is to facilitate the design of services based on a varied set of functions, the technology of which may be highly heterogeneous...
