Difficulties in automating cross-domain service production

This article begins with a list of issues governing the design, production and operation of cross-domain (network) services:

• how to discover and identify the different parties best able to meet the needs and constraints of a cross-domain service?

• how can we establish a relationship of trust between the various potentially competing parties involved in supplying and using the resources of the same service?

• how to control certain local data and prevent the leakage of data reflecting the know-how of different parties?

• what information needs to be exchanged between the various parties involved in the design, production and operation of a cross-domain service?

• what are the boundaries that limit the respective responsibilities...
