Conclusion

Generative AI, which emerged around 2015, is now present in many fields and used by a very wide audience. The transformative model, at the basis of many systems, represents a breakthrough in terms of results and learning capacity.

These systems provide intelligent support for human creativity (artistic, literary, industrial) and communication. The fields concerned are varied, and their number is constantly growing: teaching, journalism, art, justice, commerce, finance, advertising, IT, medicine, transport...

But fraudulent or criminal uses are unfortunately also present: misinformation, writing scientific texts or articles, spam, hate messages, etc. Regulation is needed to prevent all abuses. Europe is working to this end with the AI Act and the debate on copyright, but reactions vary from country to country.
