INTRODUCTION
The interface is not a "decoration" managing the external aspect of the application. It performs a bidirectional adaptation function between the user and the functional part of the application that carries out the processing. The conversion effort, between the form of exchange best suited to the user and that required by processing in the functional core, is shared between the user and the interface (figure 1 ). The more the interface takes on a significant part of the adaptation, the less effort the user will have to make to use the application.
