1.1 Principle of melt crystallization

Melt crystallization is a process based on the liquid-solid phase diagram of a mixture to be separated, as shown in figure 1 . This process could be compared to distillation, where the control and separation of constituents is based on the physico-chemical characteristics of a liquid-vapor mixture.
