 INTRODUCTION

This booklet is the sequel to entirely devoted to tray column technology, describing the different types of ferrules and the components that make up the trays.

The purpose of this chapter is to present the hydrodynamics of trays in different flow regimes, and to provide a basis for calculating the operating parameters and efficiency of trays, enabling column sizing.
