4. Conclusion

From the above literature review, it is clear that anisotropic microparticles are of great interest because of the advantages they offer over monodomain and spherical microparticles. In addition, microfluidic systems are proving to be ideal tools for producing this type of particle, as they enable them to be produced continuously, and their characteristics, such as size, composition and shape, to be easily modulated and controlled. This is achieved simply by modifying operating parameters (fluid flow rates, microsystem geometry) and material parameters (nature of fluids present, interfacial tension, etc.). However, the use of these anisotropic microparticles is still in its infancy, with so many applications yet to be explored. From our perspective, here are a few possible avenues.
