4. Digitalization and Process Engineering

The fourth revolution, which we are currently witnessing, consists in a sort of transition from robotization to "intelligent" robotization, taking advantage of the development of new technologies and in particular of progress made in the digital field: storage capacity, large-scale data analysis and processing, development of communication networks, digital modeling and simulation.

These technologies are numerous, and their mere enumeration (artificial intelligence, (AI) IoT, IIoT, big data, 3D printing, etc.) as defined below can give the impression of a heterogeneous set of isolated technological bricks. The interest of the approaches implemented within the framework of the industry of the future lies in the effectiveness of their articulation
