Generic term referring to hair loss, whether diffuse or localized, acute or chronic, partial or total.

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA)

Localized or diffuse hair loss, temporary or permanent, of genetic origin, caused by an excess of androgens or male hormones, which affects both men and women. Also sometimes called "androgenic alopecia."
