The practical use of conductive polymers in technological applications is summarized in figure 29 .

Moving from applications to industrial devices poses technological problems at various levels, some of which are discussed below. For practical reasons, there is great interest in electronically conductive polymers obtained from inexpensive compounds such as aniline, pyrrole, thiophene and their derivatives resulting from simple chemical or electrochemical polymerization processes.

In addition to the type and amount of doping in a polymer, various factors influence the conduction properties of polymers. The first determining parameter is the synthesis method, but we can also mention nano- and microstructuring or interface phenomena....
