    Overview

    ABSTRACT

Dispirofluorene-indenofluorenes associate fluorenyl derivatives to the flat and rigid indenofluorenyl units. The architecture of these molecules is three-dimensional and their electronic properties are modulated by the nature and geometry of the various ? systems. Certain of these molecules with a geometry allowing intramolecular interactions between two ? systems positioned in a "face-to-face " configuration lead to a blue emission which would be impossible to achieve by the emission of independent ?-systems. The use of a blue light from intramolecular excimers in electroluminescent organic diodes is presented in this article.
