8.1 Peel-off film removal

These plastic coatings are designed to protect the surface of sheet metal during processing (cutting, bending, stamping). These are polyethylene or PVC films. Depending on the application, their thickness ranges from 20 to 100 μm. These films are also used as lubricants in stamping (§ 3.1.3 ).
