Assemblage; Joining

All the operations required to ensure a continuous or discontinuous joint between two parts. It can be carried out continuously or discontinuously by welding, brazing, soldering, gluing or mechanical means.

Cutting; Cutting

Means of cutting by mechanical means. These include shearing, slitting, blank cutting, nibbling, punching and sawing.

Thermal cutting; Thermal cutting

Heat source cutting methods such as flame cutting, plasma cutting and laser cutting.

Formage à chaud; Hot forming

Operations mainly concerning thick tubes. The need to heat the product to a high temperature necessitates a pickling and passivation treatment.
