10. Commercial products – Producers of gallium and its compounds

The main products marketed are :

• raw 4N gallium metal (99.99% Ga), 95% of which comes from bauxite ores (95%) and zinc ores (5%). Gallium 4N is then refined to produce GaAS and GaN compounds;

• Gallium arsenide, used to manufacture GaAs substrates from Ga 7N, accounts for 95% of manufactured products;

• Gallium nitride GaN accounted for 5% of manufactured products in 2003, and was produced by 180 companies.
