8. Recycling gallium from GaAs scraps

In the case of gallium arsenide manufacturing scraps, nitric solutioning is more effective than hydrochloric and sulfuric solutioning. In HNO 3 2 N medium and at a temperature of 60°C, the dissolution rate reaches 99% after 2 hours. .

Sumitomo Metal Co. (Japan) has developed a chloride refining process to treat these scraps.
