2.1.1 Humidity

The quest for high-performance blast furnace operation does not cope well with high humidities and, above all, with large, unforeseen fluctuations. For blast furnaces operating with tuyere injections, the thermal reserve of the gas is sufficient to evaporate additional moisture without affecting productivity. In other cases, however, there are changes in the thermal profile, an increase in deviation from ideality and, ultimately, a drop in production....
