3. Sail forming technologies

As indicated in the summary, there are five manufacturing processes for non-woven webs: dry, aerodynamic, wet, melt and solvent.

3.1 Dry route (Drylaid )

Derived from the textile industry, the same basic machines are used for spinning applications, although they have evolved for nonwovens. Fed with raw fibers, carding machines clean, separate and parallel the fibers (figure 2 ). They are generally made up of three parts
