2. Check whether a "substance" SDS with a registration number must contain appendices

Your "substance" SDS has a registration number. Before concluding whether or not an annex is present, you need to check other points. Not all registered substances have the exposure scenarios summarized in the SDS appendices.

The substance must be hazardous according to the CLP regulation, or have PBT/vPvB properties. It must also be produced in quantities of over ten tonnes per year (per legal entity).

This means that a substance :

  • with a registration number but not hazardous (and not PBT/vPvB) will not have a schedule;

  • with a registration number, but hazardous and produced between 1 and 10 tons per year, will not have a schedule.
