INTRODUCTION
Your company receives products from third parties. You therefore need information on the hazards for humans and the environment, as well as precautions for storing, using and disposing of these products. This information is available in the product's Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
This sheet will help you determine whether you can request an SDS or other information from your supplier.
A step-by-step analysis of REACh's requirements and exemptions from the obligation to distribute SDSs will help you understand and justify your request for information. You should therefore check :
whether your product falls within the scope of the SDS;
if your product is exempt from the REACh regulation;
if you are not an end user of a mixture in certain products;
whether the substances or mixtures you receive require an SDS.
