1. What are the different types of allergy in the workplace?
There are two types of awareness-raising.
Skin sensitization: type IV contact sensitization.
Respiratory sensitization: type I humoral sensitization.
The pattern of sensitization induction is the same for both forms.
Awareness-raising takes place in three phases:
induction by repeated low-dose contact with the respiratory tract or part of the body;
more or less long latency/maturation time to allow sensitization to take place ;
Triggering of the allergic reaction on re-contact at very low concentration, by the respiratory route or at the site of skin induction or on another part of the body, the reaction is rapid and maximal....
