4. Perform functional analysis

It is an essential prerequisite for product FMECA. It aims to :

  • define what the product must do or what it is made for in the phases of its life cycle, the applications and/or uses retained;

  • describe how the product works by means of interdependent functional blocks.

4.1 Main and technical functions

Analysis involves identifying and describing functions, and establishing logical relationships between them.
