3.1 Measure the performance of your outsourced processes
ISO 9001 clearly states that outsourcing does not exempt you from process control, nor does it relieve you of responsibility for product/service conformity. You must ensure the quality of the outsourced service by means of performance indicators. You can obtain these indicators from the service provider itself. However, you must ensure the reliability of this information.
ISO 14001 introduces the notion of environmental performance and continuous improvement. Consequently, the impact of your outsourced processes will have to be taken into consideration in the same way as your internal processes.
