2. How is ISO 22000 structured?

ISO 22000 is a standard of requirements that can be certified by an accredited body, the first version of which was published in 2005.

The culmination of the revision cycle begun in 2015, the second version of ISO 22000 was published in June 2018. This revision was carried out concurrently and consistently with those of the other management standards: quality (ISO 9001 version 2015), environment (ISO 14001 version 2015), safety (ISO 45001 version 2018). All these standards are now written according to the same structure, to facilitate their complementarity and integration.

The 2018 ISO 22000 standard adopts the so-called HLS structure "high level structure for management system standards", now applicable to all ISO management standards.
