2. Define an overall policy and strategic framework for the medium and long term

The requirements of ISO 9001 § 4.1 refer to the organization's purpose and strategic orientations. ISO 9000 refers to the organization's mission, vision, values and culture, which form part of its "identity" according to ISO 9004 (§ 6). These concepts have been integrated into the Afnor guide FD X 30-031 (Governance and social responsibility – ISO 26000), a diagram of which is shown below.
