 INTRODUCTION

This document is based on the previous article "Olfactometry in industry. Mesure des odeurs à l'émission et dans l'environnement" by Perrin et al. (1991) and the reference .

With ADEME's authorization, it also reproduces certain elements of a report, the first version of which was submitted to ADEME in August 2001 for inclusion in the ADEME ODEUR Guide.

These olfactometric analyses of gaseous effluents emitted by industry, which are becoming increasingly common, are carried out spontaneously by manufacturers or under pressure from legislation, whether in France or in Western countries in general . Such legislation is based on standards specifying the measurement methods to be used.
