4. Change of operator, shutdown of your facilities, your situation changes
In the event of a change of operator, the new operator must declare this new situation to the prefect within one month of taking over the operation. It is important to ensure that this declaration has been made, as it transfers responsibility for site remediation to the new operator when the facilities are finally shut down.
The regulations also lay down obligations relating to the end-of-life of classified facilities subject to declaration, including notification to the prefect of the final shutdown of operations and site restoration.
