1.1 Your contact

The mayor is empowered to regulate noise within his or her municipality, when such nuisances are generated by unclassified installations. This may be done by means of a municipal noise ordinance. Example of provisions contained in this type of by-law concerning noise from industrial and commercial facilities: "Those in charge of establishments, workshops and stores of any kind, whether public or private, inside premises or in the open air, must ensure that no noise emanating from buildings and operations causes a nuisance, whether by its intensity, nature or consequences. Activities which, by their very nature, take place outdoors, are subject to the same obligations".

In the event of a complaint, he is responsible for investigating it....
