1. What parameters can be taken into account in databases?

The parameters taken into account may differ from one database to another. The parameters likely to influence the probability of ignition are :

  • product sensitivity ;

  • leakage rate ;

  • the density of ignition sources in the environment where the flammable mixture is dispersed.

1.1 Influence of product sensitivity

Product sensitivity can be associated with different concepts:

  • at Flash Point (SP) ;

  • at Autoignition Temperature (TAI) ;

  • or Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE).
