1. Understanding what a PPI is and why it concerns you

Setting up a PPI (Plan particulier d'intervention) is the result of in-depth collective work, the objectives of which are to :

  • build an operational system to protect the population;

  • develop a common culture between the departments and organizations concerned, enabling them to respond appropriately to a rare and destabilizing situation, such as a major industrial accident;

  • validate and formalize the joint operational response between the various players (operator, emergency services, public services) and the prefect, who coordinates this collective work before, during and after a major accident.
