7. Mistakes to avoid

Collaborative design with engineers and technicians from outside the company is not easy to implement within organizations. Turn your head and the NIH syndrome returns! ( Not Invented Here ). That's why special attention needs to be paid to the men and women who work in open innovation. Team management must be constant, and frequent get-togethers must be organized to bind the teams together, with the project manager playing a nodal role in these activities.

Involving customers in innovation projects remains a cornerstone of collaborative development. Their involvement in the functional specification phases, and sometimes even their involvement in the design and realization of products, is a rich source of ideas and opinions, leading to a product whose use will be accepted.
