The design fields in which an ergonomist can be engaged are diverse: the methods he/she will implement have a set of common bases, and will need to be adapted to specific design processes. If you have decided to call in an ergonomist for your project, you can use the methodological presentation below to help you plan the various stages of the ergonomist's intervention. The ergonomist's room for manoeuvre will differ depending on whether he is employed by the project owner or by the technical design team. By the same token, if the ergonomist is involved well upstream of the project, he or she will have a greater influence on the project's objectives and on the structure of the design process itself.
