1. Know your target users
The aim of ergonomic design is to ensure user comfort, i.e. to avoid the risk of accidents, unnecessary effort and all forms of fatigue, whether related to the body's metabolism, muscle and joint work, information processing or maintaining alertness.
To achieve this objective, you need to start by identifying your product's target user.
There are two possible cases:
or you want to adapt the product or system to a specific population (children, the elderly, etc.): in this case, you'll need to identify the particular characteristics of this population;
or the aim is to target as broad a population as possible. In this case, we need to use data relating to the general population.
