2. IPMA's Individual Competence Baseline for Project Management (ICB)

The ICB is the skills repository used in particular for project management certifications issued by IPMA member associations. Version 4 extends the scope of competencies to include programs and project portfolios.

The aim of this framework is to describe and assess the skills required by project management professionals. The 29 skill items listed are grouped into three categories:

  • technical skills (14 items) ;

  • behavioral skills (10 items) ;

  • contextual skills (5 items).
