1. Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) guide

The PMBoK guide is the knowledge repository used in particular for project management certifications issued by PMI.

Its aim is to facilitate the implementation of project management by drawing on proven "best practices" to promote project success.

It is not a project management method such as Prince 2 or Hermes, but a guide to the various elements needed to implement professional project management. For PMI, effective project management by project managers implies knowledge corresponding to the recognized state of the art (best practices). It is essential that they apply these practices to their projects, whatever they may be. Common language and standardized practices are the foundations of this approach.
