7. Mistakes to avoid

Think that increasing pressure during welding improves weld strength:

  • Caution: you are welding with vibrations at the contact plane, and any excessive clamping will limit the amplitude of the vibrations and therefore the amount of energy.

  • By increasing the pressure on your assembly beyond a certain limit (to be determined - between 2.5 and 3 bars or 0.25 to 0.3 MPa) you reduce the strength of your welds.
