System of interest / Système étudié
Higher-level system whose life cycle is the subject of the study (engineering).
Système contributeur / Enabling system
A system which is necessary for the system under study in its various life cycle states, but which does not contribute directly to its functions. For example, when the system under study enters a production state, a contributing production system must be available. Each contributing system follows its own life cycle. It can be considered as a system under study.
