6. Mistakes to avoid

6.1 Don't confuse architectures

When developing complex systems, don't jump straight from high-level requirements to the design of an architecture made up of hardware, software and operator procedures. Such an architecture is not a system architecture!

6.2 Don't juxtapose technologies as architecture

The result will be faulty interfaces, which will lead to tedious and unpredictable fine-tuning. Choose a global, integrated approach based on layers of (sub)systems.
